Welcome to the DD Historical Society Web link!

This is the first year in our David Douglas Historical Society and Museum work that we have a web link. With the technical help of Shay Smith, Webmaster of the David Douglas School District, we can now talk to Historical Society members as well as to the community at large. We are pleased to be one of the listings under the David Douglas District Website. We need the information and ideas of a wide variety of community members as we embark on a new project: a David Douglas Community Book (to be named later) that will update the excellent information in the first publication, THE HISTORY AND FOLKLORE OF THE DAVID DOUGLAS COMMUNITY (1989). This web link will enable all of you to submit short articles or comments about the variety of topics listed on this site. We welcome your help.

"Writing work day" at the Museum

Watch this space for an announcement of an open day at the David Douglas Historical Society Museum to produce some short family write-ups. We are in the midst of updating community history: current information about schools, businesses, neighborhoods, families. In late February or early March, we will have a day in the Museum to talk to you about your own family story. Part of the book will definitely focus on individual and family information since 1990. Come with a few lines, a paragraph or two, or some news that we can write down about YOUR family. The Museum has work space. We'll be there from
10 a.m to 4 p.m. WATCH FOR THE EXACT DAY. If you wish to send something now on this web link, or mail a write-up to the David Douglas Historical Society, 1500 SE 130 Avenue, 97233, we will be happy to read it and respond!
